Library

The proposal on the ballot just says more money.  What I find really odd is that if we vote yes, a private non-profit will have a guaranteed amount of tax dollars with no public accountability.  I don’t even understand that concept. This is not a public entity.

  1. The wording of the library prop is completely confusing.

Everyone I knew who signed the petition thought it was for a one time, $27,000 tax increase.

Priscilla said it is all legal. That the BOE vetted and approved the wording.

These are same people who accept fraudulent petitions with phony signatures. The burden of proof is always on the candidate, not the BOE.

If this is passed, we will have a PERMANENT $320,000 LIBRARY TAX THAT CAN NEVER BE DECREASED. It can only be increased.

Priscilla said it is so great that we get to vote on the budget. She didn’t say that it’s just like voting in North Korea where there is only one candidate.

Yeah- we can vote- ONLY TO INCREASE, NEVER TO DECREASE.

    VOTE NO ON NOVEMBER 8TH!!

    • Wouldn’t it have been legal for the proposal to say what it is actually doing?

It’s like having a lifetime membership to Vic Tanny’s. You pay whether they are there or not.

  2. Am glad to see signs sprouting up around Putnam Valley urging a NO vote on the library ballot proposal. It would be great to see the town blanketed with such signs. Vote NO!

  3. WW- flyers are also being put out around town explaining the issue and urging VOTE NO.
