Honoring our seniors, or kicking them out.

Sometimes you have the opportunity to right a wrong, to be a decent human being, to behave humanely.  When that opportunity arises, you are bound to take it.  Any excuses for continuing an obscenity lowers you in the eyes of the world forever, and you will never be able to karma your way out with other good deeds.

In order to proceed with the last some odd persecutions of the Cornus, now just Pierre, a court order had to be vacated.  Treating a court order as the gospel is patently absurd.  Of course, Ms Annabi must like that theory because her fraudulent petitions were pushed through by a Supreme Court Judge, who excluded two of the involved parties, and she was happy with the result, not caring how she got it.

It is the same with the Cornus.  It is a horrible result, but 5 creeps can let it stand without taking any responsibility.  It was the Supreme Court justice.

Just to be clear, it is the 5 creeps.

This is the last town board meeting.  Patty Villanova made public comment about 50 minutes in.  I will edit it down if I have time. One added comment to Patty’s remarks – In the decision, the judge required that Pierre submit his plans to the $250/ hour “referee.”  So not only would the town be able to continue to block this project, but their constipation would cost deaf, old Pierre $250/hour.  It was never a decent concept.

For those of us who have dealt with elderly parents, or who knew the eviction and disappearance of Brian Gibbons, we know that it is not an acceptable way to treat old people.  It probably is not a way to treat anyone, but for those who are less capable of defending themselves, it is as low as one can get.

  1. You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat the vulnerable, the handicapped, or in this case, the frail elderly. All of the photo ops that are plastered on every conceivable Facebook page depicting girl scouts or boy scouts or puppies don’t change the fact that when given the opportunity to do the right thing, they turned their backs. Perhaps because in this case, there was no photo op. It’s was an ugly case about a pink concrete house and an eccentric old man and his quirky tastes.

  2. I just got an email today from Sue Serino about some political event on May 10 “honoring our seniors.” When it comes to getting into the trenches and doing the hard work, the pols are nowhere to be seen.

  3. The town board clearly had the chance to do the right thing and they chose not to. Although SamO claimed all along that he wanted to help the Cornu family, it was clear to me after the Wed. town board meeting that he was not telling the truth. He did not say ONE WORD to indicate his support for the Cornu’s. WHY NOT? He was playing both sides down the middle as usual.

Still- just to show you how stupid they all are- it would have made a hell of a lot of sense for SamO, Jackie, et al to agree to let them sell the house on their own. They could have even held a photo op! What a bunch of mean spirited jerks.
